These wars disfiguring Europe and redraws the infinitely led the Savoy for political choices to unfortunate consequences. Among them, the support that Victor Amadeus II will bring to Spain, then at war against France will cost its castle in our city. Indeed, despite the alliance signed with the French, the decision to bring monies and resources to Charles II, the King of Spain for 29 years, will cause a certain couroux ... Louis XIV. Emerged victorious, it will order in retaliation destruction of the castle in the early eighteenth century. The site and some vestiges of that era are visible on his eponymous hill.
